Leo Frederick Rayfiel (March 22, 1888 - November 18, 1978) was a United States Representative from New York.
Born in New York City, Rayfiel graduated from the New York University Law School in 1908. He was admitted to the bar in 1918 and commenced practice in Brooklyn. He was the father of screenwriter David Rayfiel (1923–2011).[1] From 1939 to 1944 he was a member of the New York State Assembly, and was elected as a Democrat to the Seventy-ninth Congress. He was re–elected to the Eightieth Congress and held office from January 3, 1945 until September 13, 1947, at which point he resigned having been appointed a judge of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York. Rayfield served in that capacity until his death.
Rayfiel died in Wayne, New Jersey in 1978; interment was in Wellwood Cemetery in Pinelawn, New York.
